Description

These are my top 10 games of 2011.

In no particular order (from left to right):

Infamous 2- Excellent sandbox, superpowered, adventure, experience. The powers you weild as Cole are so much fun to use and the game has a great story and perfect pacing.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword- I absolutely love Zelda games, mainly for the fact that it makes you want to keep going. This game is no exception and is awesome. Whenever I think of playing a new Zelda, I always get a little worried that I will become overwhelmed with the abundance of things to do (side quests, collectables, vast selection of items for various scenarios, etc...), BUT each game I play proves me wrong by having perfect pacing. The items are neat and the implementation of the motion controls feel very smooth and are a lot of fun to use.

Battlefield 3- It was actually pretty tough to choose between this and Modern Warfare 3. I still like MW3 and its arcade-like gameplay, but I really appreciate the style of Battlefield 3 and its a lot of fun to play. I really like the team based gameplay and the tactical and strategic nature of each match you play.

Minecraft- Now this IS my Game of the Year. Minecraft is just an excellent game that never gets boring. I can't stop playing it whether it be mining, exploring the land, or building. It just all around a great experience and you should definately try it.

Batman: Arkham City- This game did everything Arkham Asylum did, and then some. The story is superb and the gameplay is flawless. That's pretty much all I have to say.

Saint's Row: The Third- This is also very high up on my list. The game is so over the top and that is what makes it so much fun to play. Every mission is varied and hillarious and the game never takes itself seriously and that makes it all the better. I spent 30 minutes, once, just playing by a bridge. A BRIDGE. Thats when you know you have a good game :P

Assassin's Creed: Revelations- This is a great conclusion to Ezio and Altair's story. The gameplay is the same, and that's not a bad thing. The introduciton on the hookblade, however, is very cool and fun to use. The first-person Desmond parts are a little weird, but its still a great game. The only qualm I have is with the out of place tower defence segments.

Portal 2- This is the best puzzle game, possibly, ever! It's puzzles are superbly crafted and always gave me a sense of accomplishment when I completed them. The co-op is also great. I played through it 2-3 times and I still get stumped from time to time.

Little Big Planet 2- This game is great. It leaves so much space for creativity, and is a blast to play. It's replay value is near infinite and gives you so many types of game styles to experience.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception- I say this is the best Uncharted game in the series. It has the best set pieces, and multiplayer is pretty fun, and the story as a whole is awesome (except for a few unanswered questions). I just love this game.

That was a lot of typing...

All these games are awesome and everyone should try them for themselves.

Also, if you read all this, kudos to you. You get a gold star. A valuable, metaphorical gold star.

Happy Holidays!
